Now that we’ve recovered from the mega caloriefest that is Thanksgiving, it’s time to look forward to the upcoming holidays and corresponding parties and gift giving. People struggle to come up with a holiday gift that they know the recipient will truly like. Enough with the trinkets and bath beads; give a gift that can keep giving for the duration.
Give your best friends the gift of laser hair removal from Romeo & Juliette Laser Hair Removal. Now that would be an appreciated and novel gift!
It’s a process
You may or may not know how this works. When our patients come see us at Romeo & Juliette Laser Hair Removal, we put our 12 different lasers to work removing their hair permanently. Our variety of lasers gives us the flexibility to remove hair on all skin tones and types.
Here’s how it works.
We first decide which laser is best suited to the patient’s particular skin tone and hair color. We set the laser wavelength to match the color of the unwanted hair. We then direct short pulses of laser light energy down onto that unwanted hair. The melanin in the hair shaft is what gives your hair its color, and it absorbs the laser light energy. This instantly converts to heat and this heat travels down the hair shaft into the hair follicle. The heat damages or destroys the hair follicle, precluding it from growing hair in the future.
Many hairs. Three phases of growth.
Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it takes multiple sessions to remove from 80 to 85 percent of your unwanted hair. Why? Humans have around five million hairs on our mammal bodies, and each hair is constantly cycling through the hair growth cycle. This consists of the growth, transition, and resting phases. Unfortunately, laser energy is really only effective at damaging the hair follicles when the hairs are still actively anchored in the follicles. This occurs during the growth phase. During transition and resting phases, the hairs are in the process of being shed so they are already leaving the follicles.
Bottom line? Patients usually need around six laser hair removal sessions to achieve the kind of permanent hair reduction they want. That’s why it’s helpful if you pitch in and get one or more of these sessions as the most thoughtful gift EVER!

Of course, the gift could always be for you, too!
